Unmatched Beauty and Challenge

Designer: Robert Trent Jones Jr.

The South Course at Coto de Caza Golf & Racquet Club opened 8 years after the North Course in 1995. While the North Course is long and open, the South Course, at 6900 yards as known as a shotmaker’s course. With tighter fairways and small, undulating greens, the course can challenge and reward players of different abilities.

One of the memorable holes on the South Course is hole 8. This picturesque par three requires a precise tee shot to navigate the pond that covers the length of the right side of the hole, with a well-positioned bunker on the left, taking away your bail-out option. This beautiful hole can make or break your round in a hurry.

Pro Tips

The opening hole is a par 4 that features a lateral hazard that cuts into the fairway on the tee shot. Longer hitters can take their shots over a series of bunkers on the left to a fairway that opens up. Bunkers guard the front, back, and left side of this predicable green.
