National Fitness Day - Strong as an Ox Challenge
Monday May 12th Strong As An Ox Challenge/All Day/Gym: Strong as an Ox challenge: Longest Full Plank Strongest Deadlift (Measured by pounds lifted from the floor to the waist) Most Sit-ups Most Push-ups Swim the most Laps Longest Walk on the Treadmill (distance, not time) Most Squats If a member ranks #1 in all 7 categories within the same day, they will be awarded the "Strong as an Ox" trophy and title. A gift card for dinner for two will be awarded. Prizes will be awarded to individual first place winners for the individual categories.

National Fitness Day - Physical Therapy Advice
Tuesday May 13th Physical Therapy Advice/5:30PM/Gym: Guest Speaker Miranda Goen, PT, DPT, OCS Miranda is a licensed physical therapist who earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences in April 2020. With a strong athletic background in volleyball, softball, and basketball through college, she brings a sports-minded approach to care. In 2022-20223, Miranda completed Orthopedic Residency and went on to earn her Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) certification in 2023. Miranda will be in the fitness center gym demonstrating techniques and movements to prevent and correct injury from repetitive movements. Friday May 16th Water Aerobics/9:30AM/Pool Join Gul in the pool for some fun water aerobics. Music, sun, and light cardio exercises will lower your stress levels, increase your stamina, and get your heart pumping. We will be serving fruit smoothies poolside after your invigorating work-out. Wednesday May 21st Pilates by the Water/9AM/Main Club Fountain location Join Maggie Filbert as we enjoy a morning of Pilates on the lawn in front of the water fountain at the main club. Your mats, weights, towels and Pilates equipment will be waiting for you. Just show up with your water bottle and the desire to workout surrounded by our beautiful Tampa Palms landscape.
